Display an informative and helpful profile when companies email me
Rapportive should be able to detect non-human From addresses and provide an appropriate panel of information and links.
Information could be as simple as company data (from linked in or companies house).
Links should be something like the google "site links" for the company's domain name, or the most common links on a company's website. Ideally these will be influenced by my browser history so that the links I click on most have highest prominence. (eg. the "my account" link for a site, or "managing server db1" for another site).
While Rapportive does provide information for famous companies and their domain names, above thing can be done on most domain names.
Provide company or department information for emails from a corporate email address. It wouldn't be feasible to get data for all companies but it would be nice for the big corporations such as Amazon or banks such as Wells Fargo, Bofa etc. This could also help decrease phishing attacks.
I received a lot of news, from WSJ, Groupon. If you guys add the tweets of these companies at sides, it's cool. More, u can make income from them. These are target Ads!!
I get promo email from a number of companies (as do most people). I opted in to that mail. If you can't find "email@example.com" then show me the thumbnail of burpee.com's homepage
show company profile in the newsletter and other mails received directly from organisations
I receive a lot of facebook msgs from people, you can put the facebook logo for the nonreply email just for the hell of it
Rapportive could detect web pages like @company.* this way we could know a little more of companies that are sending us mails
Show information about the company, maybe a short info like their phone number and CEO and things like that. That would be more helpful than showing that they can't find the email from the company.
YouTube, Facebook, Amazon all have a profile thats incorrect
When you read an email from a company address or automated system, we’ll now show you a summary of what the company is about, and some useful links for interacting with that company, such as their blog or support site.
The company profiles and links are extracted automatically from the companies’ websites, and our algorithms aren’t perfect. If you see something that looks odd, or could be more helpful, please do email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the email address you received the message from. That will help us to keep tweaking our algorithms and be useful in more cases.
Thanks for all your suggestions and examples in the comments – they were invaluable in getting this to work.

Pikcing up information from websites is bad idea. We should be able to edit our profiles as we see fit rather than tethering the information to the meta data.

my website title i changed with the name but it is not display new title name and display old title. i will change my site title 10 days before. plz solved the issue.
It breaks the new Gmail's scrollbar in Chrome, unfortunately :/
For non-profits, it makes sense for you to have links to their pages where people can decide to donate, volunteer, or sign a petition so that people can get engaged with the group from their inbox.

I would like my summary to read. Jim Libonati 954-600-5843 provides professional massage therapy services in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Right now it reads "in and around Fort Lauderdale, FL" how do I get rid of the words "and around"?

@Muhammad If you refresh your Gmail, the profile for email@example.com should now have a correct website summary. Thanks for letting us know about the problem!

My company summary with firstname.lastname@example.org was probably made when it was down. How can I update that?

This feature is awesome. It can save you so much time and is very easy. 2 Thumbs up for this one. I can't see anything that can be improved at this point but will post here if I do find one.

What about firstname.lastname@example.org?

One thing: when the email is a Google Apps address, it should show the company's info, not Google's.

@Jason we'd definitely like to implement something like that if time permits. We're collecting ideas for handling social network notification emails on a separate thread: http://feedback.rapportive.com/forums/42557-general/suggestions/528957-detect-notification-emails-from-social-networks Would you consider voting there? That way you'll get notified when we make progress on that feature.

Facebook also can send out messages when people comment on posts and links. It would be great to pull up the person's profile, and supply a box to reply to comment via Facebook.
Here's an example:
To: Jason Harrison <email@example.com>
From: Facebook <firstname.lastname@example.org>
Reply-to: Reply to Comment <email@example.com>
Subject: Jane Doe commented on your link.
