Allow me to copy some or all of the info found by Rapportive into the Gmail contact card
have quick one button access to allow me to copy line items from the sidebar into the users gmail contact, or the ability to copy all the info at once
I'd like to be able to assign the image Rapportive shows to the google contact in my address book. This would be awesome!
When someone is NOT a current contact there is no "Google Contacts" button. In this case it would be nice to have an "add google contact" button.
Getting people into contacts using Rapportive would be awesome.
Sometimes, I just have the person's email address. I'd like to be able to edit their entry in my address book with their full name and maybe other goodies tidbits from rapportive into my gcontacts address book.
I can already do this by hand, but it's ridiculously cumbersome and involves a lot of clicks.
Merge the contact info with google contacts and if you can also clean it
Would be great if rapportive could provide an "Add to my contacts" button for new emails that are not presently in the "My contacts" group. Clicking this button would bring up the contact detail page so we could add/edit any missing information and save the record.
Have a way to add the contact's profile url to Google contacts. For example add the contacts Linkedin profile url to Google contacts just by clicking a button.
display sugestions to merge contact information in to your google contact list add them to groupes
The most useful part of contact info is still in Google, where I can centralize it, and it echoes to my Android instantly. I think Rapportive could integrate better with Google contact.
Rapportive is great, but not the only way I access people. I'd like the notes I take with Rapportive to connect back to my Google notes (which will migrate back to my desktop).
It would be great if I could add the user photo(s) you've found through Rapportive to my Google contact for the user!
Some times I just have the email address. When I see the profile in rapportive, it will be nice to add them to the Google contacts list in a specific group and also add a set of tags.
It would be great if I can store the images obtained from rapportive searches as the image for my google contact.
It would be nice if we could save the contact picture that rapportive picks, as the profile picture for Google Contacts.
You should be able to pull data from the profiles to your address book like birthdays, profile pics, addresses, spelling of names, etc. When a conflict is found between the data you entered or the data is missing in your files, Rapportive should suggest to add this data. Of course, the user should be able to configure to skip fields like birthdays when he has no intrest in adding that data in his contacts list.
Save notes made on rapportive extension to the notes section for a contact in Google Contacts.
good good enough. Social networks info may be entered in the add book if needed.
Also, for professional reason I am not interested in this or that person.
does the site keeps some info ?
Hey folks, we’re nearly done on this. When we’re ready, we’ll release a small beta test to everybody who’s voted on the idea. Thank you for waiting :)

What's the haps with this. Says almost ready 2 years aogo.....

Its been two years since the response where you say its nearly done.... is it done? where is it?

It's definitely necessary to do this and also to have a button that leads to Gmail Contacts. Because it didn't have that I had to disable rapportive add-on, although I loved everything else about it!

I could really use this. Especially when using Google Apps for business in combination with an Android mobile device - the contacts are always in the thousands and incomplete!
If Rapportive were able to fill in blank fields for a contact, and merge multiple contacts into one (or few), I would have no problem subscribing to a monthly fee.

Hmmm... That would be nice, but the thread has been started a 17 months ago. Any chance to see that coming soon?

dandy, I'm afraid you are right. Rapportive doesn't work with the next iteration of Firefox, Beta 22. I've even left feedback about it.
Vote that up as well. Although it probably doesn't matter at this point.
As far as I can tell, Rapportive development has ceased. Would love to be proven wrong.
This would be nice. Is this still being developed?
António Pedro Perucho commented
this would be a plus, indeed. Has it been released? Thanks

Has this been released? Thanks Rahul.

Ummm... is there a one-year status on this? Is Rapportive still being actively developed?

Sam posted back in July of 2010: "I can see how this would be useful, but we’re not sure yet whether we can provide an excellent user experience here. Synchronising and merging contacts is a really hard problem – even the likes of Apple and Google get it wrong, creating duplicate contacts or overwriting data."
I like the idea of synchronizing the Rapporitive notes field with the Google Contacts notes field, but I also have the same concerns listed above. Can we have some transparency on how this feature would be implemented?

Any news on this? Almost 7 months since "almost done" - this would be a great value-add!

Any news on this. have spent the day searching for this and for some reason thought it was already created. If it also had the ability to do it on a Google CSV file from a list of Email contacts, now that is even more amazing. Fantastic for submitting a mail list to MailChimp or something of the sort.
Well done on Rapportive

While reading email, a person's Rapportive profile comes up on the side. I'd like a button that says, "add to Gmail Contacts" and when I click it, automatically adds picture, contact info, etc. AND brings up the tag list so I can properly tag them. In an ideal world, it would also search for a duplicate record and merge them (or prompt me to decide whether to merge them).
I'm also interested. Is it done? If so, it's not intuitive.

Is it ready yet? I can't wait to try this! :)
Another vote here for this to happen. Last status from Rahul Vohra is that they'be "nearly done", but that was back in Jan !!
MVS-001 : I'd like to see a button that overwrites any blank fields with data found by rapportive, eg. twitter name, photo etc
MVS-002 : Data type by data type controls, to push to google contacts, with overwrite warning if data exists.
MVS-003 : allow me to enable a constant push from Rapportive data into google contacts, like rainmaker but less crappy.
