I suggest you ...

Add reminders to follow up and keep in touch.

There needs to be a simple, quick way to remind me to follow up or stay in touch with people. One click or motion would be ideal.

For example, a slider bar that I drag (a range of 1 day to 6 months would be good). When I let go of the slider, it auto saves and that's all I have to do. I then get an email or some other notification of the reminder.

This feature request keeps coming up in feedback emails! It’s a little tricky to implement, as we have to keep track of all the reminders for all our users, even if they’re not logged into Rapportive when the reminder is due. But we know how popular it is, and we’d use it ourselves, so we’ll definitely see what we can do.

In the meantime, check out a really handy service: http://followup.cc. You cc your emails to it, and it sends you follow-up reminders.

Maybe a good first step would be providing a dynamic list of contacts who you have not communicated with recently (but are somehow recognized as 'meaningful'). This way, when you have some extra time, you can reach out to a few people who are falling off your radar.

@Leon: Streak.com has easy-to-set reminders for "boxes", which as an in-situ way of managing tasks and contacts in Gmail.

+1 for this one. Anyone has recommendations for an alternative solution for quick follow-ups that remind me at a later point in time ?

        Awesome suggestion.

Tasks don't seem to connect well to calendar or contacts. Maybe Rapportive could cure that?

I want completed tasks to move to my calendar and to the contact it was completed for. Then I could see what I was doing at that time when reviewing my calendar, and see it when I look at the contact.

Rapportive gets what other CRM don't seem to, we need to stay in Google and overlay services rather than navigating away or as Google evolves we won't see/stay current and fluent.

Currently I pay Solve360 for services that take me away from Google, and I don't like that. I need to keep my Google skills current, not learn another interface.

Has there been any movement on this? I've been looking for something that does this since etacts folded.

I think it's been said before, but Google has a Calendar and Task system each with an API so I would just one of those (or let the user decide) to add the reminders. If it's GCal maybe create a rapportive-reminders calendar; if it's GTasks then create a rapportive list.

This type of feature - a networking reminder system - is the next logical step for what Rapportive is offering its users. It wouldn't only make Rapportive "better", but would make it a more complete suite of social utilities. And for people who might not initially care about Rapportive's other features, this could be a hook to get them to download and try it out.

San, you asked me how I use google tasks...I have all my info sync with my mobile device so if you add the reminders to follow up and keep in touch to google tasks I will have al reminded in my mobile and my gmail account...and thats great!...

You can get a solution fo this "even if they're not logged into Rapportive when the reminder is due" just by using google tasks integration I think...

        Thanks for the quick response!

        (Comment from merged idea:)

        Add simple google calendar/to-do integration

It would be great if I could check a box that says "follow up in 2 weeks" or some such and it would add a simple to-do or calendar event to remind me in just one click.
